Where are we, and how did you end up here?

We’re in a large white house outside of Lerum. It’s a town we had no previous connection to, but the house and the plot felt like ours. You could say nature and gut feeling led us here.

Describe yourself in one sentence!

A restless person with lots of energy who relaxes through creating and is curious about all the beauty that makes life extraordinary.

What do you love most about your home?

That it’s 100% us. Every purchase, decision, and detail has been made for our family. It feels so incredibly personal and makes us love spending time at home.

And our home is fun too! Like a Kinder egg full of secondhand surprises and unexpected details.

What was your thought process when choosing the colours for your home?

First, I thought: OH MY GOD, I GET TO COLOUR AN ENTIRE HOUSE, dream come true, let’s go! Then I thought again (a little longer) and realized it might be good to set some frames. Especially since I’m an easily inspired colour romantic with a dominant more is more gene.

I made mood boards and mockups and landed on a calm, neutral base for the ground floor. Then I added vibrant details: two sky-blue arches and an oxblood-red staircase, to create a stronger identity and the feeling I was after. Upstairs, I basically just went with all the colors I love. But I wove in a common thread throughout the house: different shades of blue. That way, the colourful whole is tied together by a blue note.

Which colors did you choose, and what made you fall for them?

For the ground floor, where we have our main living room, dining area, and kitchen, I chose 108 – Lungo. I love that you’ve created a beige with so much personality. Warm, slightly darker, and perfect as a base. I like using colour for details to make it more personal and tailored, which is why we painted our arches in sky-blue 60 – Fiji and the staircase in 67 – Rioja.

Upstairs, we painted the living room in 91 – Retro, a shade I just needed in my life. Perfection. For the bedroom, I chose the dreamy 100 – Joy, and what a hit that was! It’s like we wake up happier now.

What are you most proud of?

Don’t make me choose between my children.

Describe your interior style in three words.

Eclectic. Colourful. Modern.

Do you have any tips for someone who wants to repaint?

Start in your gut, not in your head. Intuition before rationality. A home is an extension of you and your identity, so choose colours you love and paint for your own sake. Decorating to impress others feels uninteresting and a bit silly.

And finally, if you had to choose just one favorite color from Klint’s palette, which would it be?

Then it has to be 100 – Joy! I get goosebumps just thinking about how perfectly balanced that colour is. The harmony between blue and purple makes it so magical and unique.
